Dissemination Event of the ReAct Project at the Athens University of Economics and Business

The official dissemination event of the results of the ReAct research project on the 3rd age was held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the premises of the Athens University of Economics. The project entitled "The interaction of sustainability, resilience and social impact: The case of Elderly Care Units in Greece" was funded by the European Union for the two years 2023-2025 within the framework of the action of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation.

The Scientific Director, Professor Helen (Eleni) Salavou, gave brief greetings and presented the milestones of the research project. Afterwards, members of the research team, and more specifically Dr. Andreas Georgiou, Dr. Manos Sofikitis and Dr. Xenia Mamakou, presented the results of the primary qualitative and quantitative research, as well as the toolkit that allows ECUs to compare their position in relation to the average of the sampled ECUs in terms of resilience, sustainability and impact.

The event then included two panel discussions with participants who are experienced individuals who perform important work in the broader ecosystem of the 3rd age, members of the academic community and seniors of our University’s Master’s Program who presented their business idea. In the first discussion, good practices and challenges were presented, while in the second, the possibility of a sustainable business model for elderly care was discussed.

The event featured a light meal in the atrium of the Trias building at the Athens University of Economics and Business, which provided an opportunity for networking. The event was recorded and has been posted with free access on the website (react.aueb.gr/). The detailed program is the starting point, allowing for the targeted selection of its content.
